Lt. Pike Deserves Infamous Notoriety

"It is weakness rather than wickedness which renders men unfit to be trusted with unlimited power."
John Adams, 1788

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was and never will be."

Thomas Jefferson

The callous Lt. Pike who so willingly sprayed peaceful students at UC Davis deserves all the infamous notoriety. He was put on PAID administrative leave, which is akin to vacation.

The Occupy movement tends to make me crazy. I am certainly not part of the 1% but I don't consider myself to necessarily be part of the 99% either.

What bothers me is that although I support much of what they are saying I haven't seen a coherent plan for affecting change.

You can't supply a list of 25 demands and say "we demand change in all these areas" and expect it to happen.

Start by picking a few and working out a plan to make it happen.

All that being said our "beloved" cop deserves serious punishment for his actions. He crossed a line.

If you are not part of the 1%, then you are certainly part of the 99% whether you like it or not.

My prediction is that peaceful gatherings will eventually turn violent if the people continue to feel disenfranchised. Sadly there will be more cops like Lt. Pike and worse still various idealogues will start fighting.

And yes, our "beloved" cop needs serious punishment and not a paid vacation.
