Done with Hillary Clinton

“What is called resignation is confirmed desperation.”
Henry David Thoreau (1817 – 1862), author

Hillary Clinton's desperate attempt during the debate last night with Barack Obama was so blatantly a last ditch effort that she was afraid to stop talking, than accused the two hosts Brian Williams and Tim Russert of bias.

At this moment, I would vote for John McCain over Hillary. She just frankly disgusted me.

Why would I vote for McCain if Hillary and Obama's policies are similar? Because Hillary is divisive and will only serve to create more road blocks that will help no one, but Hillary.

I can't agree with you there, and I hope it's just frustration speaking, but I can't see how a President McCain is less divisive than a President Hillary Clinton, especially on issues that matter to the progressive community. I can understand why you wouldn't like her style, but her substance in governance would be better than any Republican, if only because of the rest of the administrative stuff that goes along with a Democratic instead of a Republican executive.

That is an awful lot of wishful thinking.

I voted for Bill both times, but I'd be lying if I said that I found his admin less divisive than the current.

You can't be serious. Bill Clinton's administration was more divisive than the one that gave us "you're with us or you're with the terrorists"? More divisive than the political machine that morphed Sen. Cleland into Osama Bin Laden in a campaign commercial?

And pardon me, but this reeks a bit of victim blaming as well. It was Gingrich and Tom DeLay who were at the heart of most of the divisiveness in the 90s, not to mention the noise machines that went after Clinton over a land deal they lost money on, and wound up impeaching him over a blow job.

I don't agree so much with Jack, on this topic, but Hillary is just not a person I want for president. McCain worries me for other reasons such as his temper and for being stubborn. But, I do admire him standing up to radio right wing nut jobs. I believe he will run a campaign similar to Obama: not so many dirty tricks. That does not mean the political action groups and the swift boat dirt balls won't make up nonsense.

Did you hear how a Southern Baptist something something described the difference between Clinton and Obama this morning on NPR? (Sorry I can't be more specific -- you try paying close attention to names and titles first thing in the morning when you're still dreaming about Brad Pitt.)

He said Clinton's interviewing for a job and Obama's on a date.

Hi Feefi, I am not sure what he means about the date or an interview. The only conclusion I can come to about why everyone thinks Obama is getting a free ride from the media (how quickly we, and especially the right wing, forget that the media jumped on the bus with Bush in the lead up to Iraq) is that he is refreshingly smart, charming, articulate and thus far honest. He is not engaging in double talk, fast talk or even trash talk. What a concept in politics.
