I saw that episode of the Twilight Zone. Inifinitely sad, don't you think?
This episode, "Time Enough at Last" first aired in November 1959. Also Wikipedia says, the story was adapted from a short story in the science fiction magazine, If, "Time" became one of the series' most famous episodes.
