Away on Business

If you talk to God, you are praying; if God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.
Thomas Szasz , psychiatrist

The Misanthrope noticed two stories today asking where God was during the tsunami disaster. The first story we noticed was William Safire’s column today “Where was God?” The second story was heard on National Public Radio asking religious leaders of different faiths the same question.

We have no answers, but Tom Waits from his CD, from a couple of years ago, "Blood Money" appears to have an answer in the song:

God's Away on Business
The ship is sinking
There's leak, there's leak,
In the boiler room
The poor, the lame, the blind
Who are the ones that we kept in charge?
Killers, thieves, and lawyers

God's away on Business. Business.
