The post-election results are being analyzed and it seems that the issues that matter to the red states are guns, gays and god. The Misanthrope is a bit slow on the uptake, of course -- shot the gays and pray for the deficit to go away.
The red states better hope that prayer works, because they will be doing a lot of praying during the next four years: for health care, for Social Security, for their kids coming home in body bags, and for the innocent people killed in terrorist attacks in metropolitan cities, when no money is spent to secure ports, chemical plants and nuclear sites.
The Misanthrope forgot – god works in mysterious ways.
